Silver City Films

 

As Silver City Films, David Grey and Anne O'Connell produced two documentaries, 'Prisoners of the Cold War' and 'Cliffhanger'.  Those films are still being screened and seen around the world.  Both films tackle the subjects of human rights and social justice.  To find out more about them see below.

 

We also worked together on the short 'Its In Our Hands' and developed the series of shorts, 'Hidden London', which Anne is currently completing.

Cliffhanger is a short about Coastal erosion in Norfolk, and the devastating effects on a small village. 

Watch the film on Babelgum as part of the Babelgum festival.

 

Cliffhanger won a special mention at the Asinara DocFest, Sardinia, Italy, and won an Honorable Mention for Best Director of a Documentary at the IFCT festival, USA, 2008. 

 

It has also been shown at the Green Vision Festival in St Petersburg, the Strawberry Fair in Cambridge, the Sapporo Film Festival , Japan and opened the Montecatini FilmVideo festival, Italy in July 2007.

Blustons is the first in the series of 'Hidden London' shorts. 

 

It screened in the Canary Wharf Film Festival, appeared online in the Tiscali Short Film Competition as part of the Montecatini Festival and was screened at the Green Note Cafe.

A Different World is the second in the series of 'HIdden London' shorts. 

 

It was shortlisted in the Best Documentary competition  at the Pentedatillo Film Festival, Italy and shortlisted for Best Documentary award at the Wood Green Short Film Festival 2008.

Hampton Pool' is the third 'Hidden London' short.

 

It screened at the pool to a full house and sales of copies of the film are raising money for the pool.  You can get one at the reception there.

 

It is also screening in Arthur's on the Green, Twickenham as part of their film nights.

 

 

Wiltons Music Hall, the fourth Hidden London short is currently in production, directed by Ceri Turnbull.
